Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced that its MTS3610 324-port 40Gb/s InfiniBand switch is available through HP as part of the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio that includes servers, networks, storage, and cluster management software as a total integrated solution. Built with Mellanox’s 4th generation InfiniScale IV InfiniBand switch device, MTS3610 switches provide up to 25.9 Terabits per second switching capability, and non blocking 40Gb/s bandwidth per port. The MTS3610 provides the highest performing fabric solution by delivering high bandwidth, low-latency unified I/O to Enterprise Data Centers and High-Performance Computing environments in a compact 19RU chassis.
When deployed to support servers equipped with Mellanox ConnectX® 40Gb/s InfiniBand adapters, the MTS3610 enables a 400 percent reduction in the number of adapters and cables when compared against 10-Gigabit Ethernet systems while delivering four times the bandwidth. In addition, the Mellanox InfiniBand switch delivers significant reductions in power, space, and cooling costs when compared with other switches of similar capacity, making it an ideal solution for green computing initiatives.
