GE Healthcare Launches new Portable Vscan Device

Portable imaging devices used to aid doctors and physician are nothing new and GE Healthcare intends to join the party. For their part, GE Healthcare has unveiled the Vscan pocket-sized visualization tool that can be used at the point of care by physicians.

It is practically the size of a standard smartphone and makes use of ultrasound technology to provide doctors an immediate visualization of what is happening in their patient’s body. Vscan makes use of GE’s high-quality black and white image technology and color-coded blood flow imaging in a device that fits into a pocket and weighs less than one pound at 3 inches wide and 5.3 inches long.
