
Portable imaging devices used to aid doctors and physician are nothing new and GE Healthcare intends to join the party. For their part, GE Healthcare has unveiled the Vscan pocket-sized visualization tool that can be used at the point of care by physicians.
It is practically the size of a standard smartphone and makes use of ultrasound technology to provide doctors an immediate visualization of what is happening in their patient’s body. Vscan makes use of GE’s high-quality black and white image technology and color-coded blood flow imaging in a device that fits into a pocket and weighs less than one pound at 3 inches wide and 5.3 inches long.
